Common furnace faults
We most often find failed igniters and flame sensors, dirty or blocked burners, faulty thermostats, pressure switch problems, or a blower motor on its way out. Each of these produces symptoms that can look alike from the outside — a system that won't light, short-cycles, or blows cool air. Testing is what tells them apart.
Safety comes first with any fuel-burning system
Gas and oil furnaces produce combustion byproducts, and a cracked heat exchanger or blocked flue is a genuine safety issue, not just a performance one. Every heating call includes a check of the components that keep your household safe. If we find something that needs attention, we'll show you what we found.
The case for a pre-season tune-up
The cheapest furnace repair is the one you never need. A tune-up in early autumn cleans the burners, tests the ignition sequence, and checks the blower — catching the worn part while it's still a small, scheduled job instead of a cold-night callout.
Questions we hearabout this service.
My furnace runs but the house stays cold. What's wrong?
Common causes include a dirty filter restricting airflow, a failing blower motor, or a thermostat calibration problem. It's also worth checking that your filter is clean and your vents are open before calling — those account for more no-heat complaints than people expect.
How often should a furnace be serviced?
Once a year, ideally in early autumn before the heating season starts. Annual service keeps the system running efficiently and gives us a chance to catch worn parts before they fail.
Do you repair boilers as well as forced-air furnaces?
Yes — we service furnaces, boilers, and heat pumps. Tell us what you have when you call and we'll make sure the right technician is sent.
