Maintenance

HVAC maintenancethat prevents the breakdown.

Most emergency service calls we run are for problems that a seasonal tune-up would have caught — a weakening capacitor, a dirty coil, a part on its way out. Maintenance is the least expensive work we do, and it's the work that saves you the most.

  • Spring cooling and autumn heating tune-ups
  • Worn components identified before they fail
  • Keeps your manufacturer warranty valid

What a tune-up actually involves

We clean the coils and burners, check and adjust the refrigerant charge, test capacitors and contactors, inspect electrical connections, verify the condensate drain, measure airflow, and check the blower. It's a systematic inspection of the whole system, not a quick filter swap — the point is to find the component that's beginning to fail.

Why it pays for itself

A clean, correctly charged system uses less energy than a dirty one, so some of the cost comes back through lower utility bills. The larger savings show up in what you don't spend — a failed capacitor caught during a tune-up is a small service call, while the same part failing in a July heatwave is a repair plus the discomfort of waiting for it.

Protecting your warranty

Most manufacturers require documented annual maintenance to honor certain warranty claims. Keeping a service record means that if a major component fails within its coverage period, you're not in the position of having a claim refused over missing paperwork.

Common Questions

Questions we hearabout this service.

How often should I have my system serviced?

Twice a year is ideal — cooling in spring, heating in autumn. If your budget only stretches to one visit, schedule the cooling tune-up in spring, since air conditioning works hardest in this region.

Can I just change my own filters instead?

Please do — regular filter changes between visits are the single most useful thing you can do yourself. A tune-up covers much more: electrical components, refrigerant charge, coils, and the parts that fail without warning.
